About the Program
If you enjoy writing more than the occasional text or Twitter posting, you might consider a career in literature. By enrolling in Iowa Western’s Literature program, you can get started by completing an Associate of Arts degree before transferring to a four-year institution to earn a bachelor’s degree or higher.
At Iowa Western, you will examine several genres of literature, including novels, short stories, poetry, and drama, and you will have the opportunity to study writers from many cultures and backgrounds. Students further their comprehension skills by composing interpretive, analytical, and critical papers on various topics.
A number of career opportunities exist in the field of literature for graduates with a bachelor’s degree or higher, and many graduates go on to pursue other related interests.
This program is designed for students intending to transfer to a four-year institution upon completion of this two-year degree.
