Combination Welding Certificat

Obtain skills in welding with each process in all positions, and in different metals and alloys, such as aluminum and stainless steel. Learn the necessary skills to weld beyond the manufacturing field into the world of customized welding. Readies you for Advanced Welding techniques; Stick welding or TIG welding. Students completing the program will test SMAW or GMAW process in A36 (mild steel) 3/8" plate 1G position. If they prequalify then will test for qualification. Completion of the course does not guarantee qualification. Fee $2750

Our welding technology programs combine classroom instruction and hands on practical experience utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. Obtain skills in welding with each process in all positions, and in different metals and alloys, such as aluminum and stainless steel. Learn the necessary skills to weld beyond the manufacturing field into the world of customized welding. Readies you for advanced welding techniques, stick welding or TIG welding. Students completing the program will test SMAW or GMAW process in A36 (mild steel) 3/8" plate 1G position. If you prequalify, you will test for qualification. MIG Welding

Always wanted to weld? Quickly learn to weld to open up new employment opportunities or to do hobby welding. This intoductory course will teach components of a welder, welder safety, blueprint reading and welding skills with a MIG welder. Our welding technology programs combine classroom instruction and hands on practical experience utilizing state-of-the-art welding equipment. Materials required are welding gloves and pliers. About the Program:

Obtain skills in welding with each process in all positions, and in different metals and alloys such as Aluminum and Stainless Steel. Learn the necessary skills to weld beyond the manufacturing field into the world of customized welding.

Readies you for Advanced Welding techniques:
  • SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding); Stick welding.
  • GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) or TIG welding.

Students completing the program will take AWS D1.1 test on 3/8” plate. Plates must qualify first before being sent to a third party testing. Qualification is not guaranteed. 100% Attendance is required!

Program to Include:
  • Math for Welders
  • Printreading for Welders
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG)
  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick)
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG)

First qualification cost is covered by Iowa Western. Any extra are the student’s responsibility at $150 each. Additional qualifications could include positions: horizontal, vertical or overhead.
Clothing code is followed closely, including closed toe shoes, no flip flops and all exposed body parts must be covered.
