Request Transcripts

You need to have a final, official high school transcript or HiSET/GED transcript sent to Iowa Western. In addition, if you have taken any college credit courses at another institution, you need to contact each of those institutions and request your transcripts be sent directly to the Iowa Western Office of Admissions. If you have completed more than 30 semester hours at a regionally accredited college or university, the high school transcript requirement may be waived.

 Send Placement Test Scores

Placement test scores (ACT, SAT, or COMPASS) are not required for admission to the college. However, if you have taken the ACT, SAT, or COMPASS recently please have your most recent scores sent to the Admissions Office. Your scores may be used by advisors to help determine placement into appropriate Math and English courses.

Credit for Prior Learning

Iowa Western Community College recognizes that students come to us with knowledge and skills gained through a variety of previous educational, life and work experiences. Whether the knowledge and skills were gained while attending high school or college or while in the military or at work, Iowa Western Community College assesses the learning experience. Credit for Prior Learning provides students an avenue to receive credit for these past experiences and accelerate the completion of educational goals.
