Computers: Management Information Systems
About the Program
Computer technology changes at an amazing rate, and you’ll be able to meet the challenges of this field head-on by taking part in Iowa Western's Management Information Systems program. Graduates of this uniquely specific program are awarded an Associate of Arts degree.
Iowa Western is one of a select few to offer a Management Information Systems degree. You’ll be armed with a solid understanding of the concepts of computer technology through hands-on work with computers in small classroom settings. A completely wireless campus is a plus for this program, as is the use of smart boards, SOS, and SAIL. Not all program courses are offered on-line or every year.
Once you complete the program, you’ll be able to apply learned information technology skills to a wide range of business issues. Iowa Western graduates have been hired immediately by metro-area companies such as Con Agra, Qwest, First National Bank, Mutual of Omaha, Union Pacific, and First Data.
This program is designed for students intending to transfer on to a four-year institution upon completion of this two-year degree. Management information specialists apply information technology tools to the spectrum of business issues. Graduates are prepared for a management career that is focused primarily on information technology, but they can expect job opportunities in a variety of industries, including both private and public, and positions that range from entry-level to upper-level.
