Coaching

About the Program

Coaching can be a rewarding vocation, but to be the best coach possible, you’ll want the best training available – you can get that by enrolling in Iowa Western’s Coaching program. Successful candidates of this program will be awarded an Associate of Arts degree and become authorized coaches in Iowa or Nebraska.

This program focuses on coaching theory and is designed to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, where graduates can work towards completing a bachelor’s degree.

As a student at Iowa Western, you will take courses that help build a solid foundation in both the art and science of coaching, including athletic conditioning, weight training, officiating, and care and prevention of athletic injuries. You’ll also have the opportunity to complete internships that will allow you to choose the sport that interests you most. With small class sizes, you will benefit from one-on-one interaction with instructors and coaches.
