Hands-On Bread Making

Learn to make delicious, healthy bread the old fashioned way. Learn the history of bread making and basic techniques of bread making. You will make a basic loaf, a sourdough loaf with a starter, a French baguette, and no-knead bread. You will also make a gluten free bread. After each class you will have a loaf to take home and bake! A $10.00 supply fee will be paid to the instructor and will include everything you need for all four classes. Fee $69

Kitchen Economy: Get the Most From Your Food Budget

The concepts and ideas necessary to get the most bang for your buck from grocery shopping, to meal planning, to actual cooking. Plus ideas for saving money in your purchases, your preparation, and consumption. Chef Jillian Mahl is a classically trained chef, educated at The French Culinary Institute (New York City) under some of the finest instructors in the world. In this class we will look at seasonal produce that we can buy locally or grow ourselves. We will learn different preparation and cooking methods for these fresh ingredients and incorporate them in some fun, unexpected recipes. Wine Brewing From Kits

Wine making need not be rocket science. Learn how to make superior quality wines in 8 weeks or less for as little as $4 a bottle. Grape concentrates are prepared for you in kits from vineyards with all the special additives to make the process easy and nearly foolproof. We will show you how to properly clean and sanitize the equipment, prepare the juices for fermentation, steps to clarify and stabilize, and bottling the wine 4 to 8 weeks after starting the process. You'll also sample different wines! Fee $24
