30 Hour Wastewater Treatment
This course provides a solid foundation and builds on knowledge about wastewater sources and characteristics, math, hydraulics, lift stations, flow measurement, preliminary treatment, primary treatment, secondary treatment, disinfection, digestion, solids handling and disposal, sampling and laboratory safety, administration, laws and regulations. Along with six months' experience, this class will satisfy the eligibility requirement for the Iowa DNR Wastewater Treatment Plants Volumes 1 and 2. All materials included. Textbooks include: California State University at Sacramento Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants Volumes 1 and 2. Bring a good calculator, your NDPES permit, a recent monthly operating report, and a desire to work hard! Fee $769

2008 NEC Update
The National Electrical Code is the most widely used electrical installation standard in the world and is in a state of constant change. Every three years a new revised code is published thanks to the extensive efforts of the code making panels (CMP) that review all the submitted proposals and make changes to the NEC. This presentation will cover some of the areas in the 2008 code where any of the changes will have the biggest impact. Some prior knowledge of the previous 2005 code will be helpful in understanding how these changes will affect your installations. A 2008 NEC is required for this session. This class is approved for 6 IA Electrical CE hours. Bring your IA license or application number to receive credit. Class is $199 with book, $139 if already have the book. Fee $199

This course will provide in depth policies and procedure to follow in a totally compliant buy here pay here operation, including a thorough review of the do's and don'ts for BHPH dealerships. All law updates from 2008 to the present will be brought to the attention of participants as they discover correct step by step structure and implementation of BHPH deals. The course will include advertising laws, consumer finance rules, the Iowa Uniform Consumer Credit Code, registration and reporting requirements with various state agencies or departments, credit reporting, debt collection, and all necessary steps and paperwork for compliant repossesions. Environmental Training for Auto Dealers
Dealerships must determine whether their wastes are hazardous or non-hazardous. Dealers who would have an interest in this class are: Dealers who incorporate service departments and auto body shops within the dealership, dealers who are automotive recylcers, and dealers will learn requirements for being a boat, ATV and snowmobile dealer. Understanding the NEC
Finding required information in the National Electrical Code (NEC) can seem like an overwhelming task to those not familiar with its contents. The scope of this course is to familiarize anyone in the electrical field on how to find specific topics in the NEC. The focus will be on chapters 1-4 as they contain the most often used articles in the code, but we will also cover some of the specific information found in chapters 5-8. The tables and examples contained in chapter 9 will also be discussed. A 2008 NEC book is required for this session. Fee $199

Cosmetology
The Iowa Board of Cosmetology requires two hours of law. All IWCC continuing ed classes will contain one hour of law, but if you have hours from another source that did not include law, or if you are out of sequence for the two hours that you need, we are providing an independent home-study course consisting of a booklet and test, which we will send you. You will have three weeks to study the booklet and send the completed test back to us for grading. Upon passing, you will be sent a certificate awarding two hours of Law and Rules. You can start anytime, just call us. $25
