CPR Instructor

Successful completion of this program should enable participants to:

• Demonstrate performance and ability to teach adult, child and infant CPR and foreign-body airway obstruction according to the 2005 guidelines
• Know adult learning techniques
• Demonstrate teaching skills and subject knowledge using AHA guidelines and materials
• Demonstrate teaching skills in the use of automatic external defibrillator (AED)
• Demonstrate teaching skills in use of mask and bag valve mask with/without oxygen

New Instructor Completion: Must register at least 2 weeks before class & pick up Core Instructor book. Must complete Core Instructor Course prior to class. Must have a class monitored within 90 days following this class

Pre-requisites New Instructor Completion:

• Must be proficient in CPR skills according to AHA guidelines
• Must have a current Healthcare CPR card
• Must have a letter from a TC coordinator who they will align with if not IWCC
• Provide own face mask
• Must provide a letter of recommendation from a CPR instructor or someone who believes you have the ability to be a good instructor
• Must make a commitment to teach at least four courses during the certification period

Prerequisites Renewal:

• AHA Instructor card must be current
• Must have written verification of status from TC if not IWCC
• Must have documentation of at least four classes taught during certification period
• Provide own face mask
• Bring instructor manuals to class

You must prepay to reserve your place in the class.

If billed to a facility, authorization must accompany registration. Registration must be received two weeks prior to class.
