Activity Coordinator Training

This 75 hour course prepares the individual to function as an entry level activity coordinator in a long-term care facility. This course has been approved by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals and the Nebraska State Health Department.

Upon successful completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

• Describe the role and list the responsibilities of the activity coordinator in a long-term care facility
• Recognize the individual needs of the residents and identify various types of approaches that are used to help residents lead normal lives
• Plan, develop and evaluate an activity program for the resident within the facility
• Perform the necessary management skills required to operate an efficient activity program
