Join us here at Iowa Western Community College to meet your Funeral Director Continuing Education needs. We meet your continuing education requirements with quality program offerings and instructors; networking opportunities and friendly, helpful staff. Normally we offer five programs a year created just for funeral directors—three in the spring and two in the fall. Located just off Interstate 80, our campus is convenient from all locations. Infectious diseases have shaped the history of our civilization. Despite impressive medical advances, our society faces a constant threat of natural and bioterrorism-initiated epidemics, as well as newly emerging infectious diseases. The purpose of this program is to provide funeral directors with the knowledge needed to prepare for present and future infectious disease threats.

This seminar will provide the required review of IOWA laws and rules to Iowa licensed funeral directors. The seminar will cover changes in the IOWA laws which have occurred in the past few years as well as proposed changes in the laws and rules.
RECIPES FOR HEALING - Using Stories, Music, Testimony and Useful Tools with Grieving Children & Families

This program will help the funeral director better assist grieving children and their family whether it’s the loss of a family member or friend. The funeral director will learn the benefits of stories, music, testimony, and other tools to use when children are involved in the grieving process. Local resources will be reviewed for empowering the families that are served.
