As a comprehensive community college, Iowa Western offers educational opportunities and services in accordance with those areas prescribed by Iowa law. Developmental education for students who are academically or personally under-prepared to succeed in their program of study is one of the prescribed areas. The college offers a continuum of pre-college courses in reading, math and language arts. Students enroll in courses based on test/placement scores.
In order to support decision-making regarding future course offerings as well as instructional design and delivery the following reports provide analysis on placement scores; and on developmental education, an overview of the academic success of students in pre-college level coursework as well as success in higher level, sequential coursework.
