Strategic Goals 2010-2015
Goal #1—Iowa Western Community College will increase the number of recent high school graduates who choose to attend to 1,128 students by 2012 (which is a 30% increase over fall of 2006).

Goal #2—Iowa Western Community College will strengthen partnerships with area high schools.

Goal #3—Iowa Western Community College will provide relevant, quality, learning experiences that prepare students for the workplace, transfer, or to meet other personal goals.

Goal #4—By 2012, Iowa Western Community College will increase fund-raising to annually fund $1.3 million of scholarships and increase Foundation assets to $10 million.

Goal #5—Every other year Iowa Western Community College will assess the quality of campus life to determine how services and activities affect student success.

Goal #6—Iowa Western Community College faculty, staff, and students will remain engaged in partnerships reflecting our shared commitment to both civic engagement with community service and the needs of our diverse global community.

Goal #13—Iowa Western Community College will create new educational programs, degrees, certificates, diplomas, credit/noncredit courses in response to State initiatives, business and industry needs, advisory boards, student and faculty suggestions, and funding opportunities while maintaining quality and relevancy in the current educational programs.

Goal #14—The college will seek alliances and partnerships that support the mission of the college, add benefit to the student learning process, and conserve or create financial resources of the institution. Only those alliances and partnerships that are of benefit to both parties will be pursued and formalized.

Goal #15—Iowa Western Community College will provide a consistent and comprehensive orientation experience to all new employees that will include introduction and acclimation to our culture.
