Association is Preneed the iPAD or Edsel of Funeral Service?
Wednesday April 24, 2013 from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.

The business world is full of grand successes and epic failures. In the 1970’s the word “preneed” did not exist. By the 1980’s funeral service had not only embraced the term but saw it as our golden future. By the 1990’s we had been convinced that if we did not promote it, market it, and outsell our competitor with it, we’d be left in the dust. But with the failure of NPS, companies too numerous to mention exiting the business, state trusts under scrutiny, and a historic recession killing returns, we must at least question whether preneed is helping us or hurting us. It’s time for a reality check.

Funeral Service Ethics

Every business and profession is talking about ethics more than ever before. Life has become more complicated and so too have the business situations we face on a day-to-day basis. Join us for a panel discussion of real life dilemmas funeral directors can find themselves in. Join in as the panel explores the professional, legal, ethical, and moral ways to deal with them.

Presenter: Curtis Rostad, Executive Director, Indiana Funeral Directors
