Basic fundamentals in interpreting blueprints as applied to the welding trade. Integrates thorough coverage of welding symbols, object liens, hidden surfaces, measurements, 2-view and 3-view drawings, and sectional views. Study and applications relate to welding field.

 Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG)

Provides the basic technical knowledge for the gas metal arc welding process (MIG), power sources and adjustments, metal transfer, shielding gases, and welding safety. Students develop skills to produce welds on 14 gauge through 1/4” thick mild steel plate. This class may include some aluminum wire welding.

 Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick)

Covers the fundamentals and technical knowledge of arc welding in the flat position, horizontal position, vertical up and down positions, and overhead position.
