Sometimes in the game of LIFE career planning can seem to be a bit of a SCRABBLE.  Discovering where to start or what needs to be done can be the hardest part. Making choices about your major, career, or transfer school is an important part of your experience at Iowa Western.

Rules always apply to the game of life. You have to start somewhere and with these five simple rules it will help you to a successful start. Yes, you have to read the rules first. And yes, you might still end up with parts left over.

In the News

Recently an article was featured on www.careerbuider.com titled, 10 Best Jobs Requiring Two- year Degrees. This article compared the cost of attending a community college versus and four- year college, but also addressed the increased earning potential for students who earn an associates degree versus students who enter the job market straight out of high school. What made this article so interesting was that at least 6 of these 10 best jobs for two-year degrees can be earned at IWCC. Some of these jobs include computer specialists whose median annual wage is $71,510, engineering technicians who earn $40,500, and registered nurses who earn on average $60,010.
