Financial Aid
Financial Aid is a process by which the student, the student's family, and the College work together with Federal, State, and local programs in meeting financial needs to attend college. IWCC believes that each student should have the opportunity for a college education and the Financial Aid Office’s goal is to assist students who have a financial need.

Understanding the Steps of Financial Aid:
- Application...starts with FAFSA
- Eligibility...determined by family contribution and college costs.
- Awarding...your Award Letter will be mailed after receipt of all documents.
- Borrowing...a separate loan application is necessary. Applying for Loans
- Academic Progress...must be maintained to receive financial aid.
Who Qualifies for Financial Aid?
You must:
- Be a high school graduate or completion of GED.
- Be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen and have a valid Social Security number.
- Demonstrate need as determined by the federal government (FAFSA).
- Be registered with the Selective Service.
- Be admitted in a degree or certificate program at IWCC.
- Be enrolled in at least three semester credit hours to receive a Federal Pell Grant.
- Be enrolled in at least six semester credit hours for student loan eligibility.
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress if you are returning.
- NOT be in default or delinquent on any federal student loan.
- NOT owe a refund on grants previously received.
