What do I do at Iowa Western?
I play a big part in planning and coordinating the recruiting events on and off campus. You may see me at a college fair or two, but for the most part you will only see me when you come to visit us for a Reiver Visit Day, a Program Day, a Group Visit or a Tour of Campus! You may also see me if you come in to get registered for classes as I help new students plan their first semester schedule in the Admissions office. We have a lot of exciting things planned for the upcoming school year so stay tuned for more information. 

IWCC Stuff

Favorite IWCC Student Story:
One student that I work with on a regular basis fell far behind in her math class due to some health issues. She contacted her instructor and he offered to meet her over spring break. He hired a babysitter and came in on his day off to make sure that she got caught up on her work; she ended up with an A in the class.

Favorite IWCC Moment:
I loved the day they had a hypnotist in the cafeteria over lunch. He had a group of basketball players who were lip singing to a bunch of really girlie songs like Gwen’s “Glamorous” and Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and Brittany’s “Womanizer.” These guys were totally into it! They were dancing and singing to it like they practiced at home in the mirror! Total Pop Princesses!

Fun Stuff

What could you not live without?
My Instinct. It is my cell phone, my alarm clock, my email, my GPS system, my text/picture messager, my facebook checker, my own personal weatherman, my digital camera, my shopping lists, my calendar, my internet and my daily celebrity updater! All the things I could not live without, smashed into one beautiful little touch screen. <3

Community Service Involvement:
I volunteer for the Make A Wish Foundation and just finished helping direct a fashion show for Wish Kids and their families. I also volunteer for the American Cancer Society and I am the co-chair for Entertainment at the 2009 Relay For Life. Our IWCC Team raised almost $2,000 this year!
