What do I do at Iowa Western?
I get to experience the best of both worlds here at Iowa Western. Throughout the year, I spend half of my time in the admissions office advising new and current students. The other half of the year, I hit the road to do some serious recruiting. If you ever see me speed walking down one of the hallways with my hands full of Iowa Western brochures… you will know that I am in recruiting turbo mode! This is my favorite time of the year. I really enjoy meeting new high school students to let them know about the endless opportunities they have at Iowa Western.
IWCC Stuff
Favorite IWCC Story:
Last year I was asked to volunteer my services as a Guest Judge for a Talent Show in the Arts Center. I was joined by four other judges and we were given the difficult task of judging the various talents that came across the stage that night. There were numerous Iowa Western students who showcased their talents in singing, acting, dancing and even a few brave soles who put on a comedy routine. The Art Center was packed with students from Iowa Western who were excited about the show. At the end of the night, we tallied up the votes and made the announcement of who had won the Talent Show. The group that won happened to be a music group and they decided to perform one last time for everyone. When they began their performance, all of the students stood up in the Arts Center and began dancing and cheering them on. That was such a fun night!
IWCC Insider Tip:
You will want to know exactly what a Reiver is. A Reiver is a river pirate (I think that Johnny Depp made pirates cool again) so we definitely have an amazing mascot! And, you can get a scholarship if you are the mascot! $$$

I love to keep up on our athletic teams, so the Athletics web pages are my favorite! I think I may be living vicariously through them.
Fun Stuff
What could you not live without?
I’m fairly certain that if my Garmin GPS navigator was misplaced, broken, or even stolen, that my life would come to a screeching halt. I know for a fact that this is one thing that I could not live without. I have become so dependent and appreciative of my Garmin, that I felt it was only appropriate to give her a name. Eleanor has become not only my compass in life but also my friend.
Community Service Involvement:
This will be my third year participating in the Relay for Life and I plan to continue to participate throughout the years to come. It is such a fun event which raises money and awareness to fight cancer. To raise money this year we have hosted a Garage Sale at Westfair and hosted a Scentsy Party. All proceeds from both events benefit the fight against cancer. What a great way to make a difference and represent Iowa Western!
Hobbies and Interests:
