The Business and Accounting Department at Iowa Western Community College has announced several year-end awards for students in the program.
Angela Wilson was named Outstanding Accounting Student for the 2013-2014 academic year. Wilson is a resident of Council Bluffs and completed her Associate of Applied Science degree in Para-Accounting in May 2014. She was awarded the recognition by maintaining a superior grade point average, exhibiting leadership qualities, and demonstrating a high level of preparedness for a career in accounting.
The Business and Accounting Department also named its Outstanding Business Students for the 2013-2014 school year. To qualify for the recognition, a student must be enrolled in a business program at Iowa Western and must have completed 42 hours towards the completion of their degree with at least 20 hours taken in residence at the college. In addition, students must have attained a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and demonstrated leadership qualities both in and out of the classroom.
