The Electrical Maintenance Certificate program prepares students to be employed as technicians in the fields of electrical maintenance, installation and repair.  The program was developed especially for industry in the development, installation and maintenance of complex industrial processes as well as their electronic, controller and computer devices. 

Graduates of this program are awarded a Certificate in Electrical Maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I pursue a certificate in Electrical Maintenance?

The Electrical Maintenance certificate program gives students an introduction to a career in Electronics.  This short course could also serve to upgrade the skills of a current employee.

Will I get a good job after only one semester?

Most employers are seeking graduates with a two-year degree for their entry-level positions. It is much more likely that you will get a change in your present job and start on a path that will lead you to a more satisfying career.

The Facility

Classrooms at Iowa Western have the latest technologies for faculty to deliver quality instruction.  Iowa Western's spacious classroom and laboratory facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology.

The Electronic Engineering Technology program in its self-contained electronics and wiring labs give students the hand-on experience they need to prepare to enter the workforce upon graduation.  The labs are equipped with the most up-to-date equipment and tools. 

Our wireless network also allows students to access the internet from virtually anywhere on campus.
