Program Information
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Video/Television Broadcasting is designed to allow students the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, both for field and student production. Students work with industry professionals, in the classroom and at CBTV-17.
The Electronic Media Studies Program - Television offers access to learning real world production techniques, time lines, news and feature productions, sports coverage and more. Students in the program are expected to take the classroom theory and apply it to the industry's expectations. Students are allowed access to all equipment and allowed to contribute to weekly news and sports shows produced at CBTV. Students work extensively with field equipment, such as cameras, microphones and lighting, as well as studio and editing equipment.
In addition, several creative shows have been produced by Video students, which have received national recognition. All students are expected to use their creative and technical expertise to assist in station programming.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the college is granted to all individuals who are high school graduates or the equivalent; however, some programs may require additional informational for acceptance. We encourage you to review our Getting Started Checklist for specific requirements for admission.
