Post-Secondary Carl Perkins Grant

Purpose of Post-Secondary Carl Perkins Grant:

1. To provide staff development opportunities for Career and Technical faculty.
2. Keep educators current with recent trends in business and industry.
3. To Strengthen ties between Secondary and Post-secondary career and technical educators.
4. Track student success and retention rates within each program.
5. Provide opportunities for special population students to succeed in career and technical programs.

1. Staff Development and Education
   1. Developing workshops for faculty to update skills and gain valuable knowledge for the classroom.
   2. Encouraging instructors to attend related conferences.
   3. Providing opportunities for instructors to gain valuable knowledge through working or observing in the field of their respective field of study. Also creates better relationships with the community.
2. Coordination with High School Tech Prep Programs
   1. IWCC programs receive funding that will allow them to coordinate with high school programs.
   2. Current Tech-Prep Program:
      Agriculture - Sydney/South Page
      Business - Riverside/Essex/ Missouri Valley
      Industrial Education - MO Valley/Logan Magnolia/Tucker Center
      Child Development - AHST
3. Non-Traditional Conference
   1. Students will be invited to a conference to learn about non-traditional career opportunities.
4. Academic Planning Cycle Development:
   1. Continual Review
   2. Curriculum Design
   3. Common Terminology
