Student Health Center
The IWCC Student Health Center is operated by the Council Bluffs Community Health Center (CBCHC) and is located in Ashley Hall across from the Student Center. The Health Center sees students, IWCC employees and their families, as well as the general public.
As a community health center, CBCHC tries to meet the needs of both the insured and the uninsured members of our campus and community. CBCHC accepts most health insurance plans, and those who are uninsured may qualify for a “sliding scale fee” based on income levels. If you would like to pick up a patient packet, including information such as a fee schedule, services offered, and a new patient form, please contact the IWCC Health Center during their hours of operation at 325-3351. Also, you can go to the CBCHC’s website at www.cbchc.com.
Medical services are the responsibility of the student. Students who are in need health services should contact the Health Center for office hours, appointments, and fee schedules. Medical services are also available at local hospitals in Atlantic, Clarinda, Council Bluffs, Harlan and Shenandoah.
Students are responsible for their own hospitalization or surgical services insurance since the College does not assume responsibility for injuries incurred by students when taking part in intramural sports, physical education courses or class and student life activities.
