Weekend Attendant-Cook (Food Service)



1.High school diploma or GED

2.Two years of college, Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent college credit



1.Two to five years experience in the food service industry

2.Experience in multi-faceted organization preferred

3.College or Secondary food service experience preferred

4.Supervisory experience preferred

5.Production and service of menu items




1.Skills to compute portions and extend recipes

2.Ability to work professionally with students and campus guests

3.Physical ability to lift 80 pounds

Job Duties:

JOB SUMMARY:             

To assist in the production of food items in the day-to-day operations of the Galley



  1. Enforce policies and guidelines set forth by the food service department
  2. Practice safety and sanitation according to the food service policies as well as those implemented by the Iowa health code and local health department
  3. Assisting in training part-time production staff when needed

4.Production of  daily menu/catering items

5.Responsible for the stocking, preparation, service and clean-up of the hot food production

6.Evaluating leftover food items and creating a new quality product

7.Maintain equipment used as assigned by the food service management

8.Recording your daily production pars to ensure proper quantities are prepared

9.Ensure that FIFO is implemented and being used at all times

10.Responsible for the safety and sanitation in the production area

11.Professionally interact with the Culinary Arts faculty and staff to ensure a positive working relationship

12.Professionally interact with Daycare staff to ensure a positive working relationship

13.Attend industry-related workshops, conferences and seminars as assigned by the Food Service Manager

14.Perform other duties as assigned by the food service management
