Thank you for your interest in the Iowa Western ECE Center, located on the IWCC Council Bluffs Campus. Our center serves the community and provides a laboratory setting for the college students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education courses. We are dedicated to providing quality early care and education services for children ages infant through five. Summer is a separate term. Enrollment in the summer program is limited and enrollment preference is given to siblings of currently enrolled children.
We believe that the foundation for learning includes the total development of children. We provide a positive atmosphere that will promote the social, physical, intellectual and emotional growth of children. Learning experiences are provided daily in an environment that promotes active, hands-on, discovery learning.
The center is licensed by the Iowa Department of Human Services and is staffed with degreed teachers with appropriate educational backgrounds and experiences. With college student interns we are able to maintain an excellent adult-child ratio. The center is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs (NAEYC), having met the Academy standards for quality programs. U.S.D.A. approved meals and snacks are served.
An open enrollment policy is observed. Children are accepted as scheduling allows in the order in which the application forms are received. A $25.00 non- refundable application fee must accompany the application form. Parents are notified by letter when a child is officially enrolled. A waiting list by date of application is maintained; vacancies are filled from this listing.
We encourage parents to tour the center prior to filling out an application, but this is not required. If you have any questions or would like to visit our center for a tour, please contact Kathy Gramlich at (712) 325-3429.
