According to the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Dental Assisting is projected to grow 19% over the coming years. This is a higher than normal outlook when it comes to overall growth within a profession. With proper training, a person can be a part of this growing profession that helps people smile.
The IWCC Dental Assisting Program combines the base knowledge of the dental field with direct patient care and lots of hands on experience. Our faculty has over 40 years of combined experience in the dental field, including positions as a Chairside Dental Assistant, Dental Office Manager and Dental Laboratory Technician. The small class size combined with a tight knit dental community allows for one-on-one interaction with the faculty as the students progress through the program.
Students will gain hands on experience working as a Chairside Assistant in an area dental school and private practice. Graduates will earn the required training and certificates to be able to practice fully in Nebraska while receiving preparation to take the required Iowa Registered Dental Assisting Board Exams.
The Dental Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation and the United States Department of Education. This accreditation ensures that the Dental Assisting Program is up to date on the latest curriculum and techniques in the dental industry.
The IWCC Dental Assisting Program adheres to all state and federal standards regarding Infection Control, Bloodborne Pathogens, Ionizing Radiation and Hazardous Materials.
