The NEW Business and Community Training Center of Iowa Western Community College is open for all your training needs. The Training Center is located on, 2120 23rd Ave, Council Bluffs, Iowa and serves Council Bluffs and the surrounding communities and businesses with a wide range of programming. The staff at Iowa Western can help with all your training needs for noncredit and credit offerings.  Whether you are an individual who needs to upgrade your skills or a business wanting to start an apprenticeship, we have what you are looking for.


Explore Our Welding Programs

Iowa Western’s Business & Community Education welding career programs and individual classes allow students to develop a working knowledge of welding techniques, equipment setup, and operations. Instruction is available for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/Stick) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) processes. Career programs prepare students for entry-level employment in today’s high tech manufacturing world. Individual classes are for those looking to improve their welding skills or to get a basic understanding of the skills for hobbies or repairs. The Intermediate Welding career program has FREE tuition assistance available to eligible Iowa residents through our Education 2 Employment program. Education 2 Employment

Education 2 Employment is a FREE college and career preparatory program designed to enhance students’ skills and employability while preparing them for vocational training and college degree programs. This program offers financial assistance to eligible Iowa residents who would otherwise not be able to afford job training.
