Drone Certficate Programs
The Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Technician Certificate prepares students for careers working with unmanned aerial systems, also known as drones. Students in this program will cover the operation, mechanics, data processing, maintenance, and regulations that pertain to unmanned systems.
- Drone Part 107 Prep Class – CrossFlight curriculum provides knowledge about the regulations and procedures governing the legal operation of Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) in the United States of America. Course content aligns with knowledge areas in the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) Part 107 airman knowledge test for a Remote Pilot Certificate with a sUAS rating.
** IWCC is partnering with REVV Aviation to provide our FAA Part 107 Examination location. (Fee for Exam is not included in the course)
- Drone Pilot 1 – In this class, the student will familiarize and discuss an Unmanned Aircraft Systems unit, its software and how to navigate and properly maintain their systems. You will analyze information and determine the best uses and safety practices regarding UAS flight operations. You will conduct flight training to improve maneuvering, target recognition, data collection, best positioning and pilot/UAS capabilities.
- Drone Pilot 2 – The key focus in the Advanced Pilot Training covers a wide range of topics and skills, depending on pilots’ area of specialization. Pilots will learn advanced flight maneuvers such as hovering, obstacle avoidance, and aerobatics. These skills are essential for capturing cinematic shots, conducting inspections, and navigating complex environments. Equipment maintenance will also be included in this course.
IWCC participates in the FAA’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Collegiate Training Initiative – The purpose of the UAS-CTI program is to create long-term relationships with institutions of higher education that focus on preparing candidates for careers in all aspects of UAS. The UAS-CTI program’s goal is to collaborate with schools to deliver up to date UAS training that matches the requirements of the National Airspace System (NAS) and helps provide qualified applicants for careers involving UAS.
