Iowa Western to Host Community Listening Sessions

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA — Iowa Western Community College will begin a community listening tour in April to gather input for its upcoming five- and 10-year strategic enrollment initiatives. Entitled “Campus Conversation Tour,” these events will bring together college faculty, staff and students along with community members to discuss the vision of Southwest Iowa’s premier educational institution.

“Iowa Western plays an important role throughout Southwest Iowa in developing programs to benefit students of all ages,” said Iowa Western President Dr. Dan Kinney. “The listening tour will help guide the administration and board of trustees in its plan to take the college forward in the years ahead.”

The first listening session will take place Thursday, April 13, at 2:30 p.m. on the main campus in Council Bluffs. College staff and students and community members are invited to attend in the Reiver Room located in the Student Center. The session will last approximately one hour.

The college is planning future listening sessions in Atlantic, Harlan, Shenandoah and Clarinda, in addition to another on the main campus later this year.

To produce the most efficient outcome for the sessions, Iowa Western has solicited the expertise of Tandem Works, a local strategic planning organization.
