Shelby County Center of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing

Program Overview

Industry partners and Iowa Western have established a demand-driven 2 year non-credit certificate program called the Center of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing or CEAM. It is designed to meet and sustain the needs of current and emerging advanced manufacturing companies in southwest Iowa.

Details

The CEAM program in Harlan is a non-credit certificate program currently focused on Electro-Mechanical training. Classroom and lab instruction are centered around learning theory then transition to practical application. Students can take the whole program or attend for a few courses! Student may earn college credit upon completion of the program.


Program Cost

$4,400 for the 2-year program (10 courses)
*Total program costs is $12,750 for two-year program. A portion has been underwritten by IWCC consortium fund to offer program as a discounted competitive rate. Cost per student per class is $440.

Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4 pm – 7 pm
All classes are held at the Shelby County Center,
located at 1901 Hawkeye Ave. Suite 102, Harlan, IA

Education 2 Employment provides FREE tuition assistance to residents of Iowa to grow their career skills and further their education.

  1. See if you’re eligible.
    Along with being a resident of Iowa, skill level will be assessed. (high school diploma required per program)
  2. Apply for the program.
    We’ll walk you through the application process.
  3. Come in with questions and leave with a plan.
    Your Pathway Navigator will be your one-on-one advisor to help you along the way and to ensure the program you choose is the best fit for you.
  4. Enroll in your chosen path.
    There are four career pathways to choose from (Health, education, Manufacturing/Logistics, IT/Business). Upon completion, we’ll help you find employment to utilize your new career skills.
