The one-year diploma program prepares students for entry-level accounting technician jobs, including financial record keeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable positions. It offers opportunities for individuals seeking to develop accounting skills or those who need additional skills to move up from their current positions.

The Accounting technician program is built on a solid base of accounting theory and includes specialized courses in computer operations. Students in this program earn hands-on learning experience in computer labs that mirror on-the-job accounting experiences.

Students who complete this diploma will earn credit toward completion of the Accounting: Para-Accounting AAS degree.

When you add it all up, Iowa Western’s Para-Accounting study program will best prepare you for an entry-level career in the field of accounting. This program awards successful candidates an Associate of Applied Science degree that will quickly send you into the profit-oriented and/or not-for-profit business world.
