Communication majors learn about concepts and practices of human communication and mediated communication. Courses focus on communication within business and organizations and among people with diverse cultural backgrounds. This program prepares students for a variety of avenues within a business environment, or for transfer to a four-year program in business or communications. Graduates of this program are awarded an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree.Communication majors learn about concepts and practices of human communication and mediated communication. What will you do

Our program is designed for students intending to transfer on to a four-year institution upon completion of this two-year degree. Being a strong communicator is vital, both face-to-face and in a digital world. This will give students experience with interpersonal and intercultural issues to facilitate success in careers in today’s global environment.  Employers continue to seek those who have effective communication skills, as well as those who can tackle new avenues of communication through social media. Communication is a broad and exciting field, with no one specific job as a final outcome. Communication majors often seek and find employment in the areas of human resources, sales, marketing, social media, public relations, advertising, broadcasting, business, government, social work, human services and/or journalism.
