Youth Summer Camps & High School Discovery Days
Iowa Western Community College will host students in grades 6th -12th grades for Summer Camps and Discovery Days in June and July! Summer Camps and Discovery Days are offered on all sorts of topics for students including: Aviation Maintenance, Culinary, Disc Golf, EMS/Health, E-Sports, Math, Nursing, Pickleball, Robotics, Trades, Welding and more!
Summer Camps and Discovery Days are hosted at IWCC’s Council Bluffs, Cass County, Missouri Valley, Shelby County and Clarinda Center locations and will include fun, friends, and hands-on learning! Full day offerings begin a $35 per day and include lunch.

Description: Calling all 6th to 8th grade students! Dive into the exciting world of robotics and engineering with our 6-week series .In this hands-on program, you'll learn the fundamentals of robotics, coding, and problem-solving while working with VEX IQ kits. Collaborate with fellow students, tackle challenges, and unleash your creativity as you design and build your own robots. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this series is perfect for anyone eager to explore the world of STEM! Don't miss this opportunity to discover your potential and have fun along the way!

This program is open to individuals who are current 6th - 8th grade students.
Registration Note: Registrations should be made under the student's name and payment is due at the time of registration.
Learn the fundamentals of Disc Golf and get in the game! Campers will learn disc golf rules and strategies during this two-day camp. Disc Golf camp is morning hours only, lunch is not included in this offering. Camp tuition includes a fee for a disc and marker that campers will own.

From learning the ropes of competitive gaming to discovering the art of teamwork and strategic thinking, this Discovery Day provides a variety of experiences!

Join a fun filled day with our one-day 3D Design Summer Camp! Participants will receive an introduction to a variety of design software to create and then print a 3D project!

Join us for an exciting day of adventure and discovery at the Pokémon GO Summer Camp! This one-day camp is designed for middle schoolers to explore the outdoors, bond with fellow Pokémon trainers, and master their skills in the world of Pokémon GO.
Required Technology: Students registering for this camp must have a smart device with data enabled and Pokémon GO app installed.

Diesel Mechanics Discovery Day participants will learn shop safety, basic diesel engine theory, and then head to the shop where they will use hand tools to assemble and adjust a heavy-duty diesel engine. When the engine is complete, participants will run their engine to verify the proper assembly and adjustment procedures while admiring their work!

Join Chef Nate at the Food Truck Discovery Day for a hands-on culinary adventure! Participants will learn the basics of cooking, menu planning, and business operations while exploring the exciting world of food trucks. Perfect for aspiring chefs and entrepreneurs, this Discovery Day combines creativity, teamwork, and fun to inspire the next generation of food industry leaders.
This program tuition includes a $15 fee for cut safe gloves that students will own.

Refunds: You may cancel your registration 5 business days prior to the start of the class date and receive a 100% refund excluding the $50 non-refundable processing fee. If contacting outside Iowa Western Community College’s Continuing Education Department business hours, leave a voicemail and or send the department an email. Iowa Western’s Continuing Education is not responsible for refunds if contact is not pursued via voicemail and or email. In compliance with the IWCC policy, refunds will only be produced in the form of a check. A check will be issued within 14 business days after the refund is admitted to the customer. Refund will be sent to the customer’s address that is on file. Certain program restrictions may apply. Contact Continuing Education for more details at ce@iwcc.edu.
Cancellations: Iowa Western reserves the right to cancel any class where difficulties arise in staffing or scheduling or where a minimum enrollment is not achieved. A full refund will be issued for all canceled classes.
Transfers/Withdrawals: Transfers may be subject to $25.00 transfer fee. Non-attendance for a class does not constitute a withdrawal and refunds are not issued for non-attendance. Transfers may be made up to two full business days (unless otherwise noted in the class information) prior to the start date of the class. After that time, transfers will not be permitted and no refund will be issued.
