What to Expect as a Student

College Early Start Expectations

  • Students are expected to be in class regardless of the high school calendar and activities.
  • Students will be treated as college students. Professors are only made aware of grade standing through self –identification.
  • Students are expected to use and adhere to the course syllabus provided by instructors.
  • Counselors will be notified of student progress five times throughout the semester and of final grades. Students can access current grades in ROC at any time.

Keys to Success

Show Up! Be in class on time. Be attentive. Be engaged!
Do the work & turn it in on time. You may not have the opportunity to turn in late assignments.
Ask for help! Self-advocacy. Standing up for yourself. Speaking up when you need help. Don’t be too afraid to ask questions and ask for help.
Time management! Between high school and college classes, the different calendars, and any other extracurriculars you are involved in (band, sports, job, etc) you will be busy. Find the best way for you to make time for everything.
